Twin Peaks Interchang only half the story

The Twin Peaks Interchange will have many positive effects on the region when it’s completed. But Twin Peaks is only half the story when the subject is significant roadway improvements along Interstate 10 in Marana.
Running concurrent with Twin Peaks will be work on Camino de Manaña from Linda Vista Boulevard to Tangerine Road. The crucial project will complete the connection between Continental Ranch and Dove Mountain. The new road will be named Camino de Manaña from Dove Mountain Boulevard to the new interchange.
Camino de Manaña will be finished in the next 18 to 24 months and the benefits will be many, including:
• better connectivity between Tangerine Road and the Twin Peaks Interchange;
• a traffic shift from a busy railroad crossing on Tangerine Road to a bridge over the train tracks at the new interchange;
• decreased traffic on I-10;
• relief on other local north-south roadways, such as Thornydale Road;
• wildlife crossings for improved safety.
The town will conduct an extensive construction outreach program for the project, including construction alerts, presentations to homeowner and business groups and one-on-one meetings with those most affected by the project.
We have a strong team working on Camino de Manaña and are confident that the job will be done on time. The project is managed by the Town and a good amount of the funding is coming from the Regional Transportation Authority. Borderlands Construction, a firm with which the Town has a long and successful history, will do the work.
Both the Camino de Manaña and Twin Peaks projects are part of the Town’s commitment to providing better transportation options for our citizens.
We have thousands of motorists on our streets and I-10 every day and their safety and convenience are our priorities.
I look forward to the day when we cut the ribbon to open Camino de Manaña and Twin Peaks. Both are prime examples of the spirit of progress and innovation that exist in this great community.
